Our 21 acres of peaceful countryside is the perfect setting for our personalized care for your dog. Our Dogsitting Service (overnight boarding) is a low-stress and relaxing alternative to the traditional kennel setting.
We’re located near Cayuga, ON - about 30 minutes south of Hamilton.
Our Philosophy
The Hug-a-Pup philosophy is to provide your dogs with professional and personalized care, offer a home-like environment, provide activities and attention similar to yours, and treat each dog as an individual. Your dog will be carefully monitored, and treated with respect. We value your dog’s well-being, and each dog is cared for as if they were one of our own.
We screen all dogs that use our services, so please help us to make sure we are a good fit for your dog. We will be asking some questions to see how they might settle into our setup and routine. We want to make sure that all dogs are as comfortable as possible during their stay with us.

Our specialty is puppies! Many of our clients started with us as very young puppies and visited with us throughout their lives. Over the 20+ years we’ve been in business, we’ve had clients who brought their first, second, and even third dogs to us from puppyhood onwards!
We provide all of the dogs with gentle and consistent handling and maintain a routine that is as close to your home routine as possible. Puppies thrive in this type of routine, but mature dogs also easily settle into our clear, predictable routine. The dogs know what to expect, and they settle in with ease each time they visit.
Go ahead, enjoy your vacation! Rest assured, your dog will be carefully monitored, cared for and respected. Your pet's comfort is important to us so each pet is treated as an individual with lots of attention and love.
